We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. Ever. Your data exists to make TPSR work for you — nothing else.
We only collect what we need to run the platform and deliver prizes to winners. Here's exactly what we collect and why:

We do not collect payment information directly. If payment processing is ever added, it will be handled entirely by Stripe — we will never see or store your card details.

TPSR products are ad-free. We do not work with advertisers and never will. Your data is yours.
When you create an account, the newsletter opt-in is checked by default — but it is always optional. You can uncheck it during signup or change it at any time in your profile settings.
If you opt in, you may receive emails about new tools and features, platform updates, tax season tips, and competition announcements. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. We use a third-party email service (such as Constant Contact) to send newsletters. Your email address is shared with this service solely for the purpose of delivering emails you've requested.
If you opt out, we will only contact you for critical account-related matters (e.g., a security issue with your account).
Your data is stored on a secured server. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt — this means even we cannot see your password. Authentication tokens are signed and expire automatically.
We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at brandon@tpsr.tax.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal information within 30 days. Content you submitted (stories, listings) may be anonymized rather than deleted to preserve the integrity of competition records.
When you submit a PITA story or Marketplace listing, certain information becomes visible to other members:
